De Madrid al Cielo ♥

Since quitting your regular job also means that you need to consume the remaining leave days, I decided on the spur of the moment to spend a few days in Spain and to enrich my (still imaginary) map of visited places.

Madrid:
I actually already visited the city once but there is always something new to see and to discover. Inspired by the works of Goya, El Greco, Picasso, Dalí, Hieronymus Bosch and Velázquez I was wondering around Prado and Reina Sofia and enjoyed the sun that has been absent in Vienna for so long.

Madrileños:
Enjoying the Spanish culture and food was also a very pleasant delight. Starting the morning with some great Pan con Tomate and ending it with a delicious variety of Tapas seemed like the perfect way to go. On Saturday I even saw a manifestación against the current political systsem and while walking around I was able to inhale the Spanish way of living in a laid-back and stress-free athmosphere.

Toledo:
The indisputable highlight of the trip was without doubt the breathtaking city of Toledo. There was so much to explore, so much to see and there is nothing better than sipping a big cinnamon coffee in the sun while watching the beautiful scenery of a city displaying its long history in so many different ways.
