For some reason this day trip was actually called "Trip without title" but what we saw was truely amazing. Driving through the white mountains, visiting the South of the island was a great experience. In one day, we had the chance to drive through mountain villages, fishing villages, saw the North and South, went to the beach and visited the fort of Frangokastello as well as the firary of Preveli. By going up-country you can see a totally different Crete - the traditional one, where you get the impression that time stands still and has been standing still for a very long time. You can feel the hospitality and get an idea of what life is like without the inrush of tourists that everyone already got used to in the North. On the culinary side, we were offered Sfakiani Pita and of course the very well known Raki. And there is no better way for having your lunch than in a small taverna with a nice view on the beach and a glass of freshly squezzed orange juice in your hand....
