A typical work day in Rethymnon featured by the Lumineers

The Lumineers resound throughout my car every morning providing me with the perfect background music on my way to work. The following words accompany me when driving through the city, the ocean on one hand, tavernas and cafés on the other:

"Cause it's a long road to wisdom but it's a short one to being ignored.."
"In the end it boils down to credibility - I had none, so I will die with the secrets of the sea."
"It's better to feel pain, then nothing at all"

I am pretty sure that all my Crete memories will be linked forever with those 10 songs of their album after this season (in case the CD survives the big summer heat in my car).

I have 5 hotels I visit throughout the day and since it's still the early part of the season, I don't have that many guests to take care of. Nonetheless, it can be quite exhausting when they complain about all sorts of stuff and blather on about things you never even wanted to know about to begin with. But you keep smiling and nodding understandingly all the while thinking of the following quote: "To be an ideal guest, stay at home." (E.W. Howe)

And after some friendly faces at the reception and a nice dinner by the pool in the last hotel, I am already looking forward to sitting in my car listening to more Lumineers songs while I see the sun set in the rear view mirror.
